My special friend Lucy (uhmmmm... yes, she is a mannequin) has been going out and about recently and is a bit of an activist as well. On this particular day she was advocating to keep Winfrey Point wild and beautiful. By Fay Stout

Spring is in the air, and White Rock Lake Park needs your help.
For the Love of the Lake’s (FTLOTL) next Second Saturday Shoreline Spruce-Up is March 9. Open registration is from 8-9 a.m. at the FTLOTL office at 1152 N. Buckner Blvd., Suite #123, Dallas, 75218 (facing Buckner across from Doctors Hospital, directly under Another Broken Egg Café).
All necessary supplies (blue bags for recyclables, latex free gloves, etc.) will be provided, and volunteers can get energized on breakfast treats, Starbucks coffee, orange juice and more.
The Spring Volunteer Appreciation Day event will follow the Shoreline Spruce Up at the FTLOTL office. Campisi’s Pizza will provide lunch, and Lakewood Brewery Co. will provide taste tests of Rock Ryder beer, the beer named after White Rock Lake Park cyclists (21 and older only). Additionally, State Representative Kenneth Sheets will present the State Resolution commemorating FTLOTL’s 200th consecutive Second Saturday Shore Spruce Up last November and the successful planting of 156 trees during the January 12 “Trees Please” Shoreline Spruce Up.
The event will include giveaways for volunteers as well. For more information, visit whiterocklake.org.
