No old fashioned ice cream makers were needed in Dallas Lutheran’s physics class when the students made ice cream last week. Their objective was to study changes of phase from the moment they mixed the ingredients to tasting their bag-made ice cream. Dallas Lutheran physics teacher Doyle Fluegel commented, “The students did a great job finding the different phases but liked the last phase best when the ice cream melted in their mouth.”

Congratulations to the Dallas Lutheran School vocalists that participated in the TPSMEA Regional Solo & Ensemble Festival on Feb. 18th. Senior Kim Henrickson and junior Brooke Douglas earned superior ratings on their solos, senior Tamiko Barker earned an excellent rating and freshman Madison Musgrove earned a good rating. Kim will advance to the State Level Competition with her solo, “Bist Du Bei Mir,” a German selection by J. S. Bach – translated to mean “You Are With Me.” This will be Henrickson’s first opportunity to compete at the State level competition for TPSMEA. She will graduate from DLS in May and plans to attend Texas A&M in the fall and major in physical therapy. Kudos ladies!
