Becker’s Hospital Review recently named Texas Regional Medical Center at Sunnyvale’s leader, Stephen Garrison, among the Top 25 Rising Stars in its annual list of hospital and health system leaders under 40. The list recognizes men and women nationwide who have spearheaded hospital initiatives, integrated technology and overseen hospital expansions in the midst of economic pressures and healthcare reform.

Given their accomplishments, Garrison, 36, and the others named are likely to achieve great things throughout their careers, stated the bimonthly publication in a press release.

Garrison is president and CEO of TRMC Management, a health company which manages TRMC-Sunnyvale for the hospital’s physician owners. Garrison took over management of TRMC-Sunnyvale’s daily operations in July and also serves as the hospital’s CEO.

“As TRMC-Sunnyvale continues to grow and find new ways to best serve our community’s health needs, I am fortunate to be part of such a strong group of medical professionals,” Garrison said. “I am honored that Becker’s Hospital Review included me among this list of leaders and look forward to continuing to serve TRMC’s patients, employees and doctors.”

Previously, Garrison was a principal in the Dallas office of Bain & Co., a global management consulting firm. Prior to joining Bain in 2005, he was a domestic policy adviser at the White House during the President George W. Bush administration.
