Members of the J. L. Long girls basketball team continued their winning ways in the 9th Annual “Hoops in the Highlands” 3-on-3 basketball tournament played on March 24. The Long girls won the 7th and 8th grade division, beating their opponents from Lake Highlands’ Nike Elite team in the best of a three game series. Members of the Hoop team included, from left to right: Ashlynn Albert (7th), Jakkisha Smith (8th), Ivy Smith (8th), and Shekina Green (7th). Not pictured where team members Cabrina Becker (7th) and Kaitlin Buie (7th). The fourth grade boy winners (below) were The Dirks: Samuel Miller (WRE), Sam Brokaw (WRE), Graham Lavender (WRE) and Cody Taylor (WRE).
