On Wednesday, March 21, Dallas Children’s Theater reached the 10,000th performance of the theater since its inception in 1984. Students from White Rock Elementary and Ronald McNair Elementary attended "Young King Arthur" by Kathy Burks Theater of Puppetry Arts, and enjoyed being a part of this special performance. An announcement about DCT’s accomplishment preceded the show, and 10 lucky students won books in honor of the event. DCT’s 10,000th performance began on Wednesday, March 21 at 10 am at DCT’s Rosewood Center for Family Arts, 5938 Skillman Street, Dallas, 75231.
“DCT has grown beyond my wildest dreams,” Robyn Flatt, DCT’s executive artistic director and co-founder, said. “What began as a modest idea has developed into a major cultural institution, and a national leader in the field of theater for young audiences. And, we keep growing! I am proud to lead such an active organization within the arts community, and to bring so many uplifting theater experiences to youth and families. Here’s to 10,000 more!”
