For their third course in this season aptly titled “A Season You Can Sink Your Teeth Into,” Mesquite Community Theatre serves up “An Empty Plate in the Café Du Grand Boeuf” by Michael Hollinger in the Black Box Theatre, located in the Mesquite Art Center in Mesquite.

The recipe for “An Empty Plate in the Café Du Grand Boeuf” calls for a little of everything from the theatrical pantry: scalding heartbreak, tempered with tender passion, whisked together with an outlandish proposal, smothered in hilarious lunacy, and lightly dusted with all the charm of Hemmingway.

Your mouth will water after listening to our head waiter describe in meticulous detail course after course of this sumptuous meal, but we are certain there will be bellies full of laughter before the night is through. The show is a must-see!

In addition to filling the theatre with a ton of laughs during their comedy-packed season, MCT has set a goal to gather a ton (yes, that’s 2,000 pounds) of non-perishable food items for Mesquite Social Services during the course of the entire season.

Patrons who bring one non-perishable food item with them get a $1 discount off their ticket price.

(One discount per ticket only.)

To meet this goal, the theatre will need to average a little more than 84 pounds of food per show for the rest of the season, a very reachable goal.
