Svend Overgaard Muller passed away June 7, 2012 at the age of 100. Born into a Danish immigrantfamily in Kimballton, Iowa on February 16, 1912, he was a Master Sergeant during WWII in Topeka Kansas. He met his wife, Neva, at a USO dance and they were married in 1944. The Muller family moved from Iowa to the White Rock area in 1952, where Svend worked for Safeway until his retirement. He was active in the Kiwanis Club, where he worked with the Key Club at Bryan Adams, volunteered as a tram driver at the Arboretum for more than 25 years and was active at the Elks Club Lodge 71. He also was a long time member of the New Covenant Presbyterian Church and the Danish-American Society. He is survived by his wife Neva; his son Warren Muller and his wife, Kathleen; two daughters: Jana Dee Barnes and her husband, Ed, and Loree Shaver and her husband, Mike; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
